SCA introduces new general assembly

October 9, 2015

The Student Council Association (SCA) Executive Board members hosted a General Assembly interest meeting in the library on Monday.

Nearly 100 students came to learn what would be expected of them as assembly members, and how SCA functions within the school.

Changes have been made to the previous system; the assembly will no longer consist of classroom representatives, but rather “self-inclined” students. The new system is intended to increase student involvement and productivity.

To remain involved and maintain their status as a General Assembly member, students must keep a  2.8 or higher GPA, exhibit positive behaviors, and must earn 25 “points” per quarter.

Students can earn these “points” by attending SCA events, club meetings, citywide SCA meetings, sporting events, and by bringing friends to any of these.

SCA General Assembly is still welcoming applicants. Applications can be found on coxsca.weebly.com and are due before midnight on Sunday, October 11.
