Congressional Future Medical Leaders shapes young minds

Last school year and before retirement, former Financial Management teacher Jeff Goldstein nominated then sophomore Sarah Bryant to the National Academy of Future Physicians without her knowledge.

So, when Bryant received a letter in the mail recently stating the she was chosen as a Delegate at the Congress of Future Medical Leaders, she was surprised to say the least.

“I was very shocked when I received this letter and I started to realize that being a surgeon is what I’m meant to do. I love healing people and watching them grow,” Bryant said.

Due to Goldstein’s recommendation, which cited Bryant’s exceptional academic standing, her extraordinary leadership potential, as well as her desire to enter the medical profession medicine she will represent the Commonwealth of Virginia in Boston, Massachusetts next June.

“This is an awesome opportunity to further my career in medicine.” Bryant said. “I want to be a surgeon, so working with the top surgeons in the country is going to be an amazing experience. I am really excited to see where this takes me next.”
