King takes “Mr. Cox” crown
And the winner is… senior Regan King
Eight of the school’s most eligible senior guys were ready to thrill the audience on Friday, March 13 in the annual “Mr. Cox” event, appropriately themed “Nightmare on Shorehaven.”
The contestants attempted to win over the hearts of the guest panel of judges for this year’s coveted title. Competitors included seniors C.J. Tabron, Dontrell Harrington, James Fatigate, John Harrison, Regan King, Chris Altekruse, Ben Dixon, and Brett Madden, who all competed in multiple rounds: formal wear, individual talent, group talent, and a series of questions.
Madden has looked forward to participating in the event since he was a freshman.
“Going to Mr. Cox the past two years inspired me to go out there and make people laugh. I felt the need to release my inner Cox,” Madden said. “I have the cheek bones and jawline of a true model and killer dance moves.”
Although surprise snow days put a damper on the preparations for the event, the guys still met over the past month, even on weekends, to rehearse and plan out the night.
According to senior host Deion Felle, the audience was not disappointed as they laughed and cheered each contestant through the event.
“It was one of the funnest experiences ever and we should congratulate the other seven guys just as much as me because they worked just as hard,” King said. “Thanks to everyone who came out and saw us.”
