MATH SPECIAL EDUCATION teacher Victoria Sachar Milosevich, admires her accomplishments for homeless families.

Math Special Education teacher Victoria Sachar Milosevich recently raised over $1,400 for ForkidsVA.org, earning her an invitation to participate in their ‘Story Slammer’ competition. To Milosevich’s surprise, she won the Slammy Award for best story.

ForkidsVA.org is an organization that assists homeless families obtain clothes, food, and shelter, while also educating them on how to break the cycle of homelessness.

According to the ForKidsVA.org, the ‘Story Slam’ took place at Cinema Café and filled up two theaters.
Participants filmed themselves telling personal stories and the videos were then shown at the theater. Viewers voted on the videos, including Milosevich’s. Each response cost one dollar, totaling over $17,000.

According to Milosevich, her video received 2,100 votes, winning her the ‘Slammy Award’ and raising $2,100 for the cause.

Milosevich’s video is currently available on ForKidsVA.org.
