Alumnus returns to his roots
Recent graduates return to their alumni to speak about their college experiences to students in College Bound Reading teacher Bekki Keener’s classes this week with the help of the school’s guidance department.
School Guidance Counselor Erica Francis arranged for alumni to come and inform students about their college experiences thus far.
Alumnus and current United States Military Academy-West Point student Ryan Muldoon spoke today about his everyday life at school.
“Part of our requirement from West Point is to promote the school and try to recruit students at different high schools around the country,” Muldoon said.
Muldoon, in his second year at West Point recently declared Nuclear Engineering as his major. By sophomore year, students are not only required to choose a major, but also required to play a sport or partake in an extracurricular activity along with classes.
Muldoon chose to fulfill his requirement with the Strength team, taking care of and helping out the Division I Men’s Hockey in the weight room.
“Helping the hockey team is cool because if we aren’t cleaning up for them or taking care of them at that moment, we are allowed to weight train alongside them,” Muldoon said.
