Senior year.

As of late, many changes have been made within the school and one in particular has certainly caught seniors’ attention.

In the past, one of the senior privileges, for those with a 2.0 GPA, was an excused fourth block.  However, this year is a bit different.  Now, a portion of these ‘priviledged’ seniors have an excused first block, rather than an early release block.

The school’s seniors have differing opinions on the topic, as some would rather start and end their day earlier, while some don’t mind the extra hour to sleep in.

“I would much rather wake up an hour earlier and have my whole day ahead of me after school. Whether I come to school at 7:20 a.m. or 8:50 a.m., I’m still going to be tired and my day at school doesn’t seem any shorter,” senior Bri Gorniewicz said.

Again though, students are torn on the topic, as some have been working hard since freshman year to keep up their GPAs and to have the option to leave school at 12:05 p.m. or 12:35 p.m., depending on their third block class.

“I’ve been waiting three years to get out at 12:05, but now I still have to wait until 2:10. Even though I don’t come in for first block, my day still doesn’t seem any shorter,” senior Morgan Pearce said.
