The Falcon golf regular season was filled with ups and downs, including wins against Princess Anne and Kellam and some unfortunate losses to First Colonial and Ocean Lakes. In the end, though, the Falcons pulled off an impressive first-place finish at the region tournament.
Senior Barret Pendergast and junior Maddox Johnson both totaled an impressive 73 strokes and finished 2nd and 3rd in the tournament.
Other notable contributors include senior Marleigh Hanum, who shot an 81; senior Peyton McDonald, who shot an 85; junior Trevor Eubanks, who shot a 78; and freshman Jaxson Cizerle, who shot a 77. Sophomore Hudson Hines qualified for the state tournament individually, shooting a career best 76.
“We battled through adversity the whole day, fighting for strokes and battling as a collective unit. It was a great day to be a Falcon; ‘Talons Up,” McDonald said.
The Falcons golf regional champions will compete at the state tournament on Monday, Oct. 13, at Bristow Manor Golf Club in Bristow, VA.
