The video game, Skate 4, is a part of the legendary skate.
According to https://news.ea.com/press-releases, a chapter of the award-winning skateboarding video game franchise will launch into Early Access on September 16. The most up-to-date version comes years after the last launch of the award-winning Skate 3 in 2010, which, at the time, was one of the most popular games on Xbox and PlayStation.
The reboot of the skate.includes Skate 4, a free-to-play multiplayer game developed by Full Circle and published by Electronic Arts; many fans look forward to reliving part of their childhood through this reformulated reboot.
Set in the vibrant city of San Vansterdam, skate.is a multiplayer skateboarding destination offering a massive open world where players discover unique skate spots, land insane tricks, and connect or compete with friends online, according to news.ea.online.
Sophomore Everest Hass is an experienced skate.3 player and has long awaited the newest addition to the series; he broke down the game into three main categories: popping, air, and grinding.
“First, the biggest component in skating is popping. Popping is jumping with the board and the new skate.4 does a great job with popping. The jumping is clean, and they added a new feature to flip the skateboard more slowly to make the game more realistic,” Haas said.
Grinding is also a new element in the game, which involves riding on edges with the skateboard, either on rails, sidewalks, etc.
“The grinding is unrealistic in the game because the board doesn’t slow down like it does in real life, but it is still fun because, at the end of the day, it is a video game, and it allows for longer combos and cooler grinds,” Haas said.
Air is another added skill where the skateboarder dismounts from a ramp, building, or other surfaces new to skate.4.
Haas feels that being able to jump off skyscrapers is unrealistic, but it makes the game more fun to play by allowing the player to land even the craziest of jumps.
There are some pros to the fourth edition of skate. The game is free to play, new parks and climbing apparatus are available, the clothing is much better, and the sound within the game is crisp.
Some of the cons, according to Haas, are several glitches, many micro-transactions, no single-player games, and some, but not all, boring challenges.
Overall, Haas is a gamer at heart and knows the ins and outs, as well as what he believes a game should include. Thus, rating the newest skate. an 8.5/10.
