To mark the finale of Homecoming Spirit Week, the Student Cooperative Association (SCA) riled up students during Friday’s pep rally in celebration of the football game, halftime activities, and the Homecoming dance. SCA members Jessie DeVito, Hunter Faison, and Sadie Workman were key in narrating the event.
The band, Coquettes, and cheer squad were the first performances to kick off the rally. During performance breaks, varsity and junior varsity fall sports were recognized for their accomplishments. Head varsity football coach Tyler Noe and his four varsity captains also gave encouraging speeches preceding the football game against Kellam High School later that evening.
Fun games and entertainment run by SCA promoted crowd participation and spirit. In light of this year’s Homecoming theme, “A Jet to Homecoming,” relay races and challenges were all theme-centered. The games ended with a competitive annual tug-of-war between the senior class and teachers.
“This year’s fall pep rally was a huge success. This is something we have put a lot of work and time into, and it was so great to see all of our students and staff having fun,” DeVito said.
The fall pep rally is an event that has taken weeks of preparation. The final product was a school-wide performance that all teachers and students were able to enjoy.
