Journalism II, III, and IV classes were granted the opportunity to pay a visit to TopGolf in early April as both a field trip and an opportunity to complete an all-inclusive food review. All-inclusive because this year, students who have been together in the upper-level classes for a few years were split into two classes on opposite days, which doesn’t leave much of an option when it comes to working together.
Several of the “B” day students often work together on bi-monthly food reviews in which they visit a variety of establishments in the 757. In this case, students were able to once again interact, play golf, play pool, and order a plethora of dishes to complete their food review.
TopGolf gave the students free rein of the bottom floor and offered two hours of unlimited golfing fun. Although scores weren’t taken into account, it became apparent that competitions were a must between each group’s members. Whether it was an intense competition or an infinite, unadulterated golfing experience, students had no complaints
Students were given full permission to explore TopGolf’s food menu, which included appetizers such as mac & cheese bites, wings, soft pretzels, and chicken dip, while also offering lunch options such as pizzas, burgers, tacos, and chicken sandwiches. There was even a dessert option; the most popular was the ice cream skillet, which offered a giant chocolate chip cookie, chocolate drizzle, and vanilla ice cream, topped with graham crackers. The food was surprisingly delicious, and both classes agreed that much of the food scored between an 8.5 and 10.
“It was an amazing time complete with games, golf , great food, and friends, ” senior Journalism III student Ava Altamura said.
