“I have been part of the CHS Gymnastics team all four years of high school, and was captain my senior year. Additionally, I have been a member of National Honor Society since sophomore year, and part of Math Honor Society and Science Honor Society since junior year. With involvement in those clubs, I have been able to volunteer in my community and at my elementary school. Also, I have participated in #Lunchbags, a prominent event organized by SCA to gather and package lunches to donate to the homeless, for two years at CHS. Throughout my time at CHS, I have built strong relationships with those around me from something as small as class participation to involvement in sports and clubs. Each year, I have made it my goal to form good relationships with teachers because it is beneficial to my learning environment and it allows me to make the most of each year. Having positive relationships with teachers makes school much more enjoyable and comfortable, and easier to ask questions and gain a deeper understanding of the topics. Similarly, I have made some of my closest friends through my classes, sports, and clubs at CHS. Being surrounded by people who have the same interests and who are working through the same assignments each day allows you to form close, lasting friendships. The gymnastics team specifically was one of my favorite places to build friendships and distress from school. Each day the team came in with a positive attitude and worked together to make the most of practice and meets. Having such a small team was really helpful in getting to know each other and feeling like a family. After graduation, I plan to attend Virginia Tech and major in Biology and eventually go into a career in medicine.”
