CHKD annual Love Run spirit week begins, students show school spirit

The community looks forward to the annual Children’s Hospital for the King’s Daughters (CHKD) Love Run/Walk for a Cure, in which all proceeds collected for the fundraiser are given to the hospital. This year, the CHKD Love Run event will be held on Saturday, February 15, at 9 a.m. at Thalia Elementary School.

Per usual, SCA students have created a spirit week that leads up to the event in an effort to gain student interest and participation.

Spirit Days Include:

Monday– Falcons Love Sleep (PJs)

Tuesday- Love Our Community (showcase military appreciation)

Wednesday- Where’s My Soulmate Day (twin day)

Thursday- I love Frank ‘Dubbs’ Day (green and gold)

Friday- Spread the Love Day (wear pink)

FALCON FOOTBALL PLAYERS joined field hockey, baseball, and a solo golfer to sign letters of intent in the auditorium on National Signing Day earlier this week. Although some of these student-athletes signed in the fall, they were honored again, along with all of their peers.

BIOLOGY TEACHER MISS Moresco and Security Guard Mrs. Carlson came out in full costume for winter spirit week. Moresco and Carlson both wore inflatable costumes to represent a gingerbread Santa and Olaf from Frozen.

TEACHERS DRESSED IN monochromatic colors on Monday as part of an "Underground Spirit" day developed by the school's Sunshine committee. Students are not supposed to know that their teachers are participating until the end of the week when they are asked to dress in holiday themed attire.
