The Palmerton brothers and Heselius trio have become dominant in this year’s review game as they stake out the best spots in Virginia Beach. Senior Hudson Bartley made his first appearance for the latest review at a newer, mostly seafood restaurant, Atlantic on Pacific. The restaurant is best known to locals for it’s appetizer happy hour every day from 3-6 p.m. that includes a $6 burger and $1 oysters and clams.
As you enter the restaurant, you quickly notice that it is split into two main sections. One of these sections focuses more on dining, while the other is more of a bar area. The review team sat in the dining area for obvious reasons. Like most Oceanfront restaurants, the decor was modern, but still relaxing. While the bar section is bigger, the dining section gives a comfortable vibe and it is separated from the louder portion of the restaurant. Anyone 21 and older utilize the bar area because it’s not only social, but probably quicker because there is also a raw bar right next to the actual bar that offers food.
Atlantic on Pacific is definitely known for its seafood menu that includes just about everything one could ask for including: salmon, oysters, lobster rolls, shrimp, crab, clams, etc. In addition, the restaurant also serves traditional American cuisine complete with the restaurant’s signature touch.
All four reviewers ordered decided to skip the seafood, ordering the DOUBLE Paddy Griddle Burger. This ginormous burger was a fan favorite receiving a score of 8/10 overall. The thick, juicy burger, offered with your choice of toppings also comes with a side of fries. For $6 all thought it was a huge steal. Since the happy hour oysters were three for $3, the boys decided to add on the dish. The oysters are offered fried, raw, and garlic-roasted; they tried all types.
Bartley, a seasonal oyster farmer, decided to try the raw oysters, that to the others, seemed to be an acquired taste. So while Bartley sucked down the raw oysters, the other guys preferred the dish with flavor.
Atlantic on Pacific is a fantastic spot for a social night out while still enjoying top-notch food. The restaurant offers the perfect atmosphere whether its a date night, a night out with friends, or a all out party night. The Palmerton brothers, Heselius and Bartley all agreed that this restaurant is a must-try Oceanfront homerun.
