Five CHS senior student-athletes signed their ‘letters-of-intent’ to play the sport of their choice at the next level in a small ceremony during One Lunch this week. James Godfrey, Christian Dewey, and Conner Worth will play baseball at their [respective] colleges/universities, while Isabelle Pardo and Erma Grey Bailey will play field hockey at their chosen school.
While there is a National Signing Day, generally in February, when student-athletes across the country sign, the school has separated the ceremonies to include small fall and spring events. This gives friends, family, and coaches the opportunity to watch as their student-athlete make one of the biggest decisions of their lives.
“I chose JMU because I had a lot of personal connections there and the coaches and staff felt friendly,” Conner Worth said. “It will be a good fit.”
Student-athletes, their sport and school of choice include:
James Godfrey (Baseball, Norfolk State University)
Christian Dewey (Baseball, George Washington University)
Conner Worth (Baseball, James Madison University)
Isabelle Pardo (Field Hockey, Liberty University)
Erma Grey Bailey (Field Hockey, The College of William & Mary)
