Student Council Association’s (SCA) door decorating returns Monday, only a few days away. And, as one walks the halls, it’s easy to become riveted by the vivid and dazzling door decor that shows off the Homecoming theme and the thrill of school spirit.
Originally, the Homecoming tradition was to decorate the hallways and each “Class” would decorate according to their theme. For the past few years though, the school switched up the process. Either way, the SCA selected themed doors clash against each other in this annual competition.
Each class started constructing their doors Tuesday, October 8, corresponding to the theme, “And the Award Goes To…”. Falcon students have collaborated throughout this past week to prepare the ten doors for this decorating tradition, but students can’t hang their finished products until Friday, October 11, and all decorations must be completed by the morning of Monday, October 14, when judging will occur at 9 AM and this year’s Homecoming door champion will be announced.
“Some kids try to act like they have no school spirit, but the decorated doors help remind kids that tradition never graduates. Ultimately, school spirit is inevitable and it can’t be ignored,” senior SCA Historian Cole Ludford said.
