“GSA (Governor’s School for the Arts) has given me a type of creative outlet that I don’t have at Cox. It has given me the opportunity to visit Japan where I stayed with a host family and perform in five different cities. I work with industry professionals and we do master classes with people on Broadway at least once a month. A regular day at GSA goes from 1-5 and includes dance classes, vocal lessons, acting classes, audition practice, and rehearsals. This year I’m taking six AP classes at Cox-Environmental Science, US History, Comparative Government, Language and Composition, Seminar, and Calculus AB. I am also part of NHS, Math Honor Society, and English Honor Society. Every week I make a study schedule and try to work ahead as much as possible. My dream would be to double major in theater and something else at either Northwestern or Yale; Both are colleges that have phenomenal theater programs and the academic rigor that I am used to. My overall goal is to be on Broadway, but if that doesn’t work out I want to have a backup major!”
