The food reviewing journey started at the beginning of the year as juniors Blake Heselius and Max Palmerton combined their love for the culinary arts and their enthusiasm for being behind a camera. The food review videos started out with a small idea and progressively picked up steam as the year went on. More creativity and detail were added each and every time in order to give readers and viewers the most honest and truthful review of local restaurants.
For the last review of the year, the pair went to Princess Anne Country Club for their Ring Dance dinner. Princess Anne is a private country club that offers much more than just dining. Some amenities they have are their golf course, tennis courts, pickleball, sports court, and gym. It was apparent as the two walked in the country club was extremely well-kept with an extremely hard-working staff. The interior of the club had a huge staircase with lots of antique artwork and wood to solidify its rich aura.
The dinner was a reservation made for thirty people, so the pair did cut the restaurant some slack. The food wasn’t as highly rated as some of the smaller places the two frequented. The menu was already “set” and gave its patrons choices, but not the full menu. A Caesar salad was offered to guests to start, then guests chicken scampi, shrimp scampi, or roasted chicken with dill cream sauce for an entree. Lastly, for dessert, the group had a choice between cheesecake or a chocolate torte. Heselius and Palmerton both indulged in the shrimp scampi as their meal of choice and moved on to cheesecake for desert.
Although both Palmerton and Heselius enjoyed the salad first, they thought it was lacking the necessary amount of dressing to properly satisfy. For the entree, they both enjoyed the scampi as the shrimp tasted fresh. In addition, the pasta with the shrimp in the same bite intrigued the pairing’s tastebuds. The desert which turned out to be a fan favorite of the two, so much so that Heseilus ended up ordering two for himself. The cheesecake by itself was delightful, but an arrangement of strawberries on top solidified the true elegance of the meal.
Overall, the dining experience may have outweighed the food but that added to the ambience. The pair definitely recommends the Princess Anne Country Club to anyone with a large party who wants a fancier dining environment.
Heselius and Palmerton wanted to thank all the viewers who have invested in their food reviews throughout the year. Without the support of the entire Falcon Press staff, these food reviews would not be possible, and they are extremely grateful for everyone who has put in work to help make these food reviews as successful as they have been. Palmerton and Heselius will return in the fall in hopes of bringing even more food reviewing content.
