Grades compete for winning title, float building competition
Float building, an annual tradition at CHS, is an activity during Homecoming week that promotes teamwork and ingenuity.
Each Class is tasked with creating a float that represents the Homecoming theme and is unique to that particular Class. This activity will take place Monday, October 3 – Friday, October 14, during the Homecoming game half-time parade. Any and all students can reach out to their class president or sponsor if they would like to help out.
Each year, one of the main reasons float building becomes so competitive is due to students’ Falcon pride and their desire to win.
“Once again, the class of 2025 will be winning the Float Competition. We invite everyone to participate, but also know that we will be bringing home the gold,” sophomore Class Sponsor Mrs. Nardelli said.
All float building volunteers for each class, club, and activity should arrive an hour before the game begins to complete finishing touches and for judges to decide the winner.
According to SCA Secretary Amelia Keck, many Pre-COVID traditions will return to the week long Homecoming festivities this year. SCA is excited to have even more school spirit throughout the halls.
