Humans of CHS: June 2022 Edition

“Ever since I was little, I’ve been running. My dad first put me into the Shamrock Final Mile, which is where I first got my love for charity events and races. When I joined the CHS Varsity Track and Cross Country teams, I really enjoyed the competitive aspect of running but knew that I still wanted to be involved with fundraising events, whether it be as a participant or coordinator. Mrs. Shumate was the sponsor and she reached out to me; she asked me to be Love Run chairman during my junior year. Being able to combine my love for running with my passion to serve others was an unforgettable experience. I’ve been running for the Love Run since freshman year, but being able to organize it was amazing. Each year we have met our set goals and broken them. I plan on continuing to run throughout college and stay involved with fundraising events. I’m grateful for the opportunities CHS has offered me throughout these four years.” – senior Christina San-Marina
