National Art Honor Society (NAHS) students represented the school last week to recognize School Board Appreciation week by offering board members an art therapy session.  Students worked confidently and patiently with participants by teaching them how to use various painting techniques and apply mixed media.

NAHS students met at the VB School Board building and brought their supplies in to show board members how to apply art into everyday life and incorporate it into one’s overall self-care habits.

Student attendees included: Devon Dodd, Lucy Klinkhammer, Alexandra Murray, Efty G., Waverly Howard, Lindsey Malosky, and Fabiana Pájaro.

“I truly believe they reminded us who we are all really fighting for. And, we really showed them why the arts are so important,” NAHS sponsor and Art teacher Mrs. Van Veenhuyzen said.
