Five Falcon DECA students to compete in March state championship
The school’s Distributive Education Clubs of America (DECA) members recently competed in the district competition. Seven members collectively won 20 medals, and five of them will move on to the state championship in March to compete again.
These scores are determined by a series of challenges such as, a roleplaying demonstration, an exam, and overall performance.
Furthermore, the categories reflect aspects of Business and Marketing to include Entrepreneurship, Marketing Communications, Principles of Business Management, Apparel and Accessories Marketing, and many others. Students are also able to choose the category in which they’d like to compete.
Notable students that won titles include:
- junior Skye Garner who placed 1st overall in Business Services Marketing
- senior Reilley Webb who placed 1st overall in Entrepreneurship
- junior Sophie Whitsel who placed 1st overall in Principles of Marketing
- sophomore Emir Balci who placed 1st overall in Principles of Business Management
- junior Sharon Shen who placed 1st overall in Principles of Hospitality and Tourism.
These students will go on to compete in DECA’s state competition in March.
