Humans of CHS: October 2021 Edition

“Annually, my favorite part of the school year is football season; playing the game I love and representing my school all at the same time. Nothing else really ever compared to that feeling. Unfortunately, during the first quarter of our week one match-up against Ocean Lakes, I displaced and fractured my left fibula. Thinking this would completely ruin my attitude for football season and the beginning of my senior year, I was devastated. But, I was quickly reminded that I loved this time of the year for way more reasons than just playing football. Standing on the sideline and looking up to see the “Nest” packed at every game reminded me of the school spirit that Cox has. This energy is what made me fall in love with the fall. I’m beyond grateful to attend a school that prioritizes spirit and I am thankful to have so much support, even while being injured.” – senior Hunter Waltz
