St. Patrick’s Day takes on newer, sweeter form, D.I.Y “Shamrock Shake”
Most people look forward to St. Patrick’s Day and all the green ‘delights’ the holiday brings. One of these ‘delights’ would be tried and true, creamy, green treat topped with whipped cream, otherwise known as McDonald’s “Shamrock Shake”.
Seniors Kayleigh Cannaday, Burkelle Reighard and Caitlyn Sullivan set out to make their own homemade shake and test it against McDonald’s.
The three made their own minty shake, perhaps with a bit too much food coloring, and then put it up against the real deal. Watch to find out if it’s really worth it to buy the shake or if you can create your own from right inside your own kitchen.
“Shamrock Shake” at home recipe:
- 3 (hefty) scoops of vanilla ice cream
- 1/4 cup heavy whipping cream
- 1/2 tsp. peppermint extract
- green food coloring (to preference)
- whipped cream
- maraschino cherry
