Falcon Photography club presents Student for Student showcase
The Falcon Photography club hosted the first ever Student for Student Showcase on Tuesday, Nov. 19. Over 20 performances were put on in genres such as ballet, jazz, and tap. The event gave students an outlet for expression that hasn’t been offered before and the event allowed Falcons to come together through their love of performing arts. Student-made TikToks were also featured.
Photography club president and senior Emily Pryce spear-headed the event, advertising heavily on social media to get the word out. It was especially important that everyone knew the showcase’s purpose which was to that all proceeds went toward funding holiday meals for Brookwood Elementary students in need.
“I’m looking forward to seeing the smiles of the children who have been blessed with food for the holidays by their loving community,” Pryce said.
Falcon Photography club sponsor Mylinda McKinney offered her support through the planning process, deciding to offer items such as Lolly’s Ice Cream, various raffles, and pieces of artwork from the club.
“The event has been student-driven and Emily Pryce decided to take the lead. We have reached out to various members of the community and they have all been compliant and super helpful throughout the process. I’m looking forward to raising awareness for the Brookwood Elementary students,” McKinney said.
