Humans of CHS: November 2019 Edition

As a tribute to the social media blog ¨Humans of NY¨, the Falcon Press staff decided to create a spin-off entitled ¨Humans of CHS¨. Staff members will roam the hall each month until they find a ¨human¨ with an inspirational bit of advice, an unusual story to tell, or who simply wants to chat about life.

̈When I was in 7th grade, I was planning to sleepover my friends house who lived in the Westin in Town Center at the time. She told me to come up to her floor, meaning I would have to take the elevator alone. As I began to walk to the elevator I noticed the man at the front desk notice me. He gave me a weird stare, almost as if I was doing something wrong. I hopped onto the elevator and pushed the button to the 23rd floor. The elevator stopped on the 10th, picking up an old lady who claimed she was traveling to the 24th floor. The elevator skipped the 23rd and went to the 24th. Suddenly, I had a weird gut feeling. I needed a key card to get anywhere else. I began to panic, running down the stairs from the 24th floor to the ground floor (I needed a key card to open the doors to the 23rd). I didn’t own a phone at the time to contact my friend. Suddenly, the staircase stopped at the 15th floor. It seemed as though the rest of the staircase was blocked off and I began to panic yet again, however, I was able to get to the ground floor from there because it led me outside. I opened the doors once again to the lobby sweaty, stressed, and a little bit scared. I heard a voice from the front desk say: ̈I knew you’d be back “. Ever since then, I have made my friend come down and get me.
