Boo Bash ‘treats’ children to safe night of candy and games
There is more to SCA’s annual Boo Bash event than simply tricks and treats. In fact, the night has become a staple within the surrounding community, providing younger children with a safe and fun alternative to trick-or-treating if they are unable to do so in their own neighborhoods and to dress up in their favorite costumes prior to Halloween evening.
While Boo Bash does provide a night where Falcons set up booths to represent their club or sport, dress up in crazy costumes, play games and give out candy to attendees, one of it’s main goals is to keep children safe and take some pressure off of parents on the generally chaotic Halloween night.
This year’s Boo Bash will take place on Monday, Oct. 28, in the school’s gym from 6-7:30 p.m. Parents are encouraged to bring their children and to donate monetarily or with a few canned goods that go directly to the United Way of South Hampton Roads to help families in need throughout the holiday season.
“Not only does the Boo Bash arrange a safe place for kids to trick-or-treat,” SCA president Kylie Levine said. “But, it also doubles as a give back to the community by requesting donations for United Way.”
