YoungLife; summer ‘camps’ in Saranac
CHS Young life members traveled to the Saranac Village YoungLife Camp in Saranac , New York, recently to join students from around the country where they would make new friends and make memories with other teens who share the same beliefs and values.
According to younglife.org, it is an organization which focuses on highlighting teens who come from a variety of backgrounds and who hold similar morals. The camp is also open to kids who may be overlooked: those from economically depressed communities, kids with disabilities and teenage mothers.
With the help of YoungLife leaders, this organization encourages student involvement. Each member is asked to help fund raise for children who can’t afford to attend the camp.
Senior Emma Lewis attended Saranac Village YoungLife Camp over the summer and was grateful for her experience and the knowledge she was afforded through the camp.
“YoungLife camp was so incredibly fun. I was told it was going to be the best week of my life and they weren’t lying! I am forever thankful and blessed for being able to experience camp,” Lewis said.
