Dancing til dawn, ‘Seashells and Sunsets’
Ring Dance, an annual event in which high school juniors receive their class rings, is right around the corner. This year’s Ring Dance theme is ‘Seashells and Sunsets’ and will be held at 7:30 in the Lesner Inn and will end at 10:00.
Junior Advisory Board Vice President Jack Davidson said, “Ring dance is going to be a great way to celebrate the end of exam week and a start to the summer. With the Seashells and Sunset theme, the Lesner Inn will be the perfect spot for the celebration.”
For months, the Class of 2020 has been planning this formal event. Throughout the year they have held fundraisers, such as casholas, and have sold Chick-fil-A chicken biscuits in the past to help raise money. Tickets are on sale until today, May 16, for $65.
The dance was originally planned to be held at the Museum of Contemporary Art (MOCA) on Friday, April 26, however, this year the junior class had to completely reschedule the entire dance due to the new music festival, ‘Something in the Water.’
Junior Ashley McGrath is one of the many students on the Ring Dance planning committee.
“It has been an interesting experience having to re-plan everything out,” McGrath said. “I’m excited to see how it turns out and I think everyone will have a good time.”
