Humans of CHS: January 2019 Edition

As a tribute to the social media blog "Humans of NY, " the Falcon Press staff decided to create a spin-off entitled, " Humans of CHS. " Staff members will roam the halls weekly until they find a " human" with an inspirational bit of advice, unusual story to tell, or who simply wants to chat about life.

“I have taken on an entrepreneurial role in selling my gently worn clothes online. I sell everything from bikinis to jeans and prom dresses. I started selling my clothing as a quick way to make money because I love thrift shopping, but I never wear some of the things I buy. I attempted to sell my clothes at places like Plato’s Closet, but my name brand, gently worn clothes were turned down because they were determined to be ” out of style.” Also, I tried to sell them through online sites including Poshmark and Depop, but Instagram was easier, and faster. I took pictures of me modeling in the clothes I didn’t want and uploaded them onto my Instagram page. Before I knew it, I was swarmed with responses and was making deliveries any chance I could. This opportunity has helped me mature and learn a few business techniques. Also, I have made new friends. Over the course of a month, I have accumulated over $500. I hope to continue my ” business” as long as I can. Follow @shop.nyah to check out all of my clothes available for purchase or go to www.instagram.com/shop.nyah. “
