Falcon Photography club, “Powder Shoot”
Experience art through a lens
Falcon Photography club will hold a “powder” shoot on Monday, Oct. 22, after school from 2:30 p.m.-5 p.m. All students, guys and girls, are invited to attend.
Juniors Emily Pryce and Kaleigh Miller lead the newly redesigned Photography club, sponsored by Art teacher Mrs. Ehardt, and this year they decided to put a new spin on what they refer to as a “powder shoot”.
The purpose of the powder shoot itself is to show the artistry involved in an athlete’s movement, specifically gymnasts, through action shot photographs of students “powdering up” to play or perform.
“Doing this is our way of letting students know that photography club is for everyone, even if someone doesn’t own a camera or know how to take pictures. We want everyone to be welcome and to show that photography is also a form of art,” Pryce said.
Each student will be able to strike a powder pose, $5 for three poses and $10 for six-eight poses. All of the proceeds from the event will go back to the Photography club in order to purchase new school cameras.
