Virginia Beach City Public Schools (VBCPS) announced that they will be adding 15 minutes to the end of the school day starting Feb. 12 and ending May 4 to make up the remaining four days lost to snow. Along with the additional minutes, students will make up the snow days on Jan. 29 (Staff Day) and Feb. 19 (Presidents Day).

One snow day has already been waived for students (Jan. 8). Two days will be made up using a Staff Day (Jan 29.) and President’s Day (Feb. 19). This will be a “C” day for all high school students. They will attend all eight of their classes during the day instead of following the A/B block schedule.

VBCPS has extended the first semester to Friday, Feb. 2 due to the extended time schools were closed. Report cards for the second nine weeks and first semester will be issued to students on Tuesday, Feb. 13.
