Powderpuff power
The annual SCA sponsored Powder Puff tournament kicked off on Thursday, Dec. 7, at 2:45 after school on the stadium field. Instead of the guys taking each other down, the girls took over the field as the guys cheered them on.
The teams were organized into brackets and the winning team was awarded a bedazzled football decorated by SCA students.
Admission for spectators was free and concessions were sold by SCA.
Junior Abbey Faro, the captain of Blackout Babes, is one of the teams entered in the tournament.
“I’m excited to see which team’s can bring it on the field. May the best team win!” Faro said.
After the games concluded, it was the “Seniorellas” that came out on top, defeating the “Care Bears” in the championship game 11-8.
The Seniorella team was led by senior Ryanne Davidson who racked up a number of touchdowns during the two 8-minute halves.
“It was exciting to win the championship in our last year and the “Care Bears” made the finals competitive and fun,” Davidson said .
