Leadership for leaders
This past weekend, the annual student-run event, Leadership Workshop, took place.
The weekend workshop took place at Triple R Ranch in Chesapeake from Friday, April 21 until Sunday, April 23. The Ranch was packed with young aspiring leaders; Freshman, Sophomores, and Junior students all attended as delegates and the student staff was comprised of Juniors and Seniors.
Delegates were put into councils, where they created skits and worked on their leadership, compromise and communication skills.
The councils were designed to help underclassman come out of their shells while allowing the upper-class staff to put their leadership skills to work.
One Junior member of staff, Ben Darnell got to see the effect this workshop has on underclassmen first hand.
According to Darnell, “It was a really fun weekend where you could physically see underclassmen become more outgoing and confident, and as for the staff, we all got really close. We’re definitely a group of people that will be friends for a long time.”
