Driving for dollars
SCA is working with Southern Buick – GMC Lynnhaven in Virginia Beach to host a “Buick: Drive for Dollars” fundraiser on Thursday, May 18, from 4 – 8:00 PM in the school’s parking lot. Proceeds will fund future SCA and PTSA sponsored events.
The concept is simple: for every person, who is at least 21-years-old, that takes a test drive for five minutes in one of the Buicks made available, the dealership will donate $20 to the school. The goal is to raise up to $10,000.
“Drive for Dollars,” will be not only feature free test drives, but plans to host a number of other activities including a cornhole tournament, to also take place in the parking lot, at 6:00 PM. This double-elimination tournament costs $10 per team to enter. Cash prizes will be awarded to winners in each bracket.
Food trucks will be on site, as well as activities for kids, such as face-painting while their parents test drive cars.
For teachers who can’t make it back to school in the evening, Buick will have two cars in the parking lot during third block.
All students and their parents are encouraged to come out for the event.
