The Virginia Beach Human Rights Commission (HRC) has selected teacher and Gay-Straight Alliance (GSA)  sponsor Victoria Sachar-Milosevich to receive a Human Rights Award at their 23rd Annual Award Ceremony on Thursday, April 6, at 7 p.m.

According to a memo signed by HRC Chairman Cliff Rice, each year the commission recognizes noteworthy individuals and/or groups in the community who have aided in the understanding of cultural diversity, social awareness, and human rights. Honorees are then selected by commission members based on efforts made in these specific areas.

Sachar-Milosevich was chosen on behalf of Commissioner Michael Berlucchi for her work with the recent GSA Assembly held at the school.
