Trump secures electoral victory
Republican candidate Donald Trump won the presidential election yesterday, creating one of the biggest upsets in American political history. Although Trump secured his victory by winning over the needed 270 electoral votes, it was Clinton who won the popular vote.
According to the Associated Press website, President-elect Donald Trump addressed supporters at his victory party in New York City, he asked the nation to come together, and promised to, “represent every citizen of our land.”
Trump ended his speech by saying, “I promise you I will not let you down.”
Trump will take the office of President of the United States after his inauguration on January 20 of next year.
