ART STUDENTS PARTICIPATED in the Vans shoe design contest.

This year, art teacher Jessica Szymanski encouraged her students to enter the Vans Custom Culture contest, in which students were asked to use blank Vans shoes as their creative canvas, customized around specific themes. The school’s themes included: local flavor, art, music, and board sports.

According to the Vans Custom Culture websites, schools with the top five winning entries are flown out to celebrate their artwork and have noted judges votes on the grand prize winning submission, worth $50,000.

Junior Seyler Robertson paired up with Syzmanski and her students to create this year’s video entry. Robertson’s video can be seen on YouTube: Video // Vans Submission.
