Rasmussen wins Mr. Cox
The school’s SCA sponsored Mr. Cox on Friday night. Current and former students and parents came out for the highly anticipated event.
Each of the eleven “Broadway Bound Boys” performed in groups and presented their unique talents in a bid to win the competition.
Individual routines included singing, playing guitar, and a wide array of comedic acts. Contestant Greg Hahn even provided the crowd with hilarious dating advice with his “Hot-Crazy Matrix.”
Before the show and during the intermission, Band Name Pending performed. Much of their setlist featured original music. Physics teacher Mr. Allard also performed his familiar three-song setlist.
Peter Sterling won the coveted “Miss Congeniality” award and Adam Hibben won the People’s Choice award.
Nic Zarate was the first runner-up.
“It was like a dream come true to even finish as first runner up,” Zarate said. “I had so much fun and I thank SCA and the guys for all the work they put into it.”
Axel Rasmussen took home the ultimate title of Mr. Cox 2016. He received the crown from Mr. Cox 2015 winner Regan King.
In addition to “Mr. Cox,” Rasmussen also claimed the title “Man of Many Talents.”
The contestants presented senior Clayborne Loizou and sophomore Megan Brunick with flowers and gift cards for their efforts in organizing the pageant. They also honored SCA sponsor Mrs. Nardelli for her role in the event.
