Republicans talk ISIS, debate
Republican presidential candidates took the stage in Las Vegas, NV last week to debate national security and plans for countering ISIS. All nine candidates agreed that action needs to be taken against ISIS; however, several disagreed on what type of action needs to be taken.
Several of the candidates believe that sending troops to deal with ISIS is the best approach, while other candidates want to rely only on airstrikes and drones.
“I believe that whoever is elected into office is going to need strong advisers, since there is no one way to counter ISIS,” AP Comparative Government teacher Darlyn Janson said.
