Humans of CHS: Lia Dopp
“One of the richest cultural experiences I’ve had is traveling to a very small Maasai village in Tanzania. The Maasai people live in tribes and they build their own homes. In the village we visited, there were many dead goats and their schools were much different. Most people in the village make a living making jewelry, then selling it to tourists. Although the tribe’s culture contrasts drastically from ours in America, they are equally as happy in their way of life. This experience made me grateful for what I have, while teaching me the importance of respecting other cultures.”
