Park and Muriano: National Merit semi-finalists
September 21, 2015
Last October, over 22,000 high school students were entered in to the National Merit Scholarship contest by completing the Preliminary SAT Qualifying exam. The highest scoring students, the top 1 percent of test-takers in each state, would go on to earn a semi-finalist distinction.
Seniors Seimi Park and Jack Muriano were two of six students in Virginia Beach who did earn the distinction of National Merit Scholarship Semi-Finalists and were awarded the opportunity to compete for over $32 million worth of college scholarships.
According to Park, becoming a National Merit Scholar is a goal high on her list and one she is currently working hard to achieve.
