Angel Tree offers limbs to community
December 2, 2014
School sponsored activities promote students to not only ‘give’ to families in need within the community, but to volunteer their time and support.
The Angel Tree drive is held annually in conjunction with other citywide events to provide gifts of new clothing for children during the holiday season. And, while SCA generally sponsors the event, several other service organizations within the school such as Key Club and National Honor Society also contribute.
Student members are given an Angel Tree ticket indicating the clothing size of an individual child and are asked to bring in the clothing for distribution by Wednesday, Dec. 3.
Key Club sponsors Judy Rea and Deb Erskine are currently collecting their members’ donations and plan to send it on to the Angel Tree organization by the end of the week.
“It’s great to see so many students involved in the act of giving and willing to make a difference in a child’s life,” Rea said.
