Letters to the Editor: choosing a side
May 6, 2014
Dear Editor,
I agree with your standpoint on gay marriage. Since the US Constitution upholds and enforces the separation of powers. We are guaranteed the right to pursuit of happiness and who are “we” to deny that to anyone unless it presents some sort of danger. However, as gay marriage doesn’t present a danger it should be legal and one’s own choice.

Dear Editor,
This article made me smile. I am so fortunate to live in a time of change and equality. The fact that same-sex marriage is finally being recognized as equal to heterosexual marriage is amazing. There can only be true equality when we accept our fellow man with love and understanding. Judgments about same-sex marriage can only hinder us from moving forward. I agree with this editorial in that we, as citizens, must make a choice. Our choice should be to accept love for love itself.

Dear Editor,
I am torn in my decision as to whether or not to legalize same-sex marriage. While I do not necessarily agree with same sex marriage, I do not condemn those who take part. We are to love and respect our neighbors. I am strong in my Christian faith, but that does not mean I have to judge or condemn my brothers and sisters who are homosexual, I just don’t agree with it personally. If the legalization will help end discrimination towards them, so be it, go ahead and legalize it. We all deserve to be happy and have the freedom to choose and no one can take away our freedom of choice.
