Cases of pride
May 15, 2014
With trophies held high and sounds of cheering fans, school pride suffocates the stadium. Teams remain close together, bonded by the hard work and dedication it took them to get this award. Together, they trained, they fought, and they conquered. Together is how trophies are earned.
Recently, the school added trophy cases in the auditorium foyer, custom built by Tech Ed. classes. The newly built cases house each team’s achievements over the past 52 years and serve as a testament to the school’s talent and dedication.
While each trophy can mean something different to every player, coach, or team; ultimately, they represent the school’s history. The school’s Girls Varsity Soccer Head Coach Michelle Clark has taken the initiative to fill the trophy cases.
“Trophies are a representation of all the hard work we put into each soccer season. Each one symbolizes the team’s ability to buy in and just do what they came to do. Instead of paying attention to placing’s and ranking’s, we pay attention to the process of getting where we need to be and succeeding,” Clark said.
The trophy cases are not only houses for the school’s achievements, but also show off the school’s talent by exemplifying the skill of the Tech Ed students.
“I think the new trophy cases are great additions to the school because they enable visitors see just how great and successful our school really is,” junior Rachel Shulmeister said.
