Humans of Cox: February 2023 Edition
“My name is Erin Bailey and I am a graduating senior this year! It is a blessing to be the Class of 2023 president since freshman year and lead my fellow classmates through high school. My time here at Cox has been fulfilling, with four years on the Coquettes dance team. I was a captain for two years and I even led the team to the Grand Championship win at our competition this year. Along with dance and class president activities, this year marks my third year in SCA and NHS. One of the activities I did outside of the classroom as class president was plan events such as Ring Dance, a variety of fundraisers, Boo Bash, and homecoming. This year, the seniors won first place for our hallway decorations during Homecoming Week and first place for the float competition. Furthermore, I have been a Journalism student since freshman year. I took Journalism in hopes of finding a future career. I enjoy writing and that’s why journalism appealed to me initially. Over the summer, I reached out to a local news reporter and shadowed her for the day. She highlighted the positives and negatives that comes with being a broadcast journalist. Although I was recently accepted into the University of North Carolina at Chapel Hill, I applied with a Journalism major because I hoped that would assured admission. I am pleased to say that I was admitted, one of hundred chosen from 4,000 applicants. Although I do not know where I will go to college next year, the future definitely looks bright!” ~senior Erin Bailey
