Humans of CHS: April 2022 Edition
“Hi, my name is Thomas White and I’m a senior at Cox High School. As far back as I can remember I’ve been playing baseball. In the four years I’ve been at Cox, all four of them my life has revolved around baseball and through that, I have some of my best memories and have built relationships that will last a lifetime. My favorite memory from my time so far would have to be winning a state championship last year. That team was only the second Falcon baseball team to do so, and the first in over 20 years. It was incredible. But, it wasn’t just winning that made it so memorable. We had nine seniors on that team and every day they were always pushing me to be the best person and player I could be, and through that, they became some of my best friends, who now despite being up and down the East Coast in college, I still talk to on a weekly basis. That was part of what made us such a great team and made winning so much fun. Baseball is a year-round commitment so you see your teammates quite a bit whether you want to or not, and I can honestly say I wouldn’t have wanted to win with any other group. Now with my senior season underway, I’ve realized that winning and bringing more hardware back to Cox is great and all, but it isn’t the end all be all. All I want for the rest of the year is to go out every day and have fun with my teammates and leave the baseball program and the school better than I found it. I couldn’t have been more fortunate to end up in a place like Cox where there is supportive staff and a high standard on doing things the right way.” -senior Thomas White
