“Hi! My name is Delaney Estes and I am a senior at Cox! Something that I am very passionate about is cheer-leading. I am the Captain of the Varsity Sideline and Competition Cheer-leading team here at Cox. Now, many people believe that cheer-leading is just about standing on the sidelines and shaking some pompoms. However, this is not the case. I have been cheering since fifth grade, where I started all-star cheer in Maryland. Ever since, I have been 100% committed to the sport. When I came to Cox, I started sideline and competitive cheer on top of all-star cheer. I’ve worked every single day on my skills in order to get better. Each year I gained at least one new skill and perfected all of my other skills. I would have privates to work on myself 3-4 days a week on top of all of my practices for Cox and Fame All-stars. When I am not cheering, I workout at Wareing’s Gym through the Parisi Speed School. Now, in my senior year, I am working harder than ever in order to be a part of the Mississippi State Cheer-leading team. However, even if I do not make the team at State, I am so proud of how far I have come throughout my cheer-leading career and could not be happier to see where I am today.” – senior Delaney Estes
