Humans of CHS: October 2018 Edition
” Two year ago I broke my left leg while playing basketball. I jumped up and came down way too hard. I was really upset about my leg because I couldn’t play basketball for a long time and I was in a wheelchair for a while. I felt hopeless not being able to do what I loved. One day, I was in my wheelchair rolling down the street because something told me I needed to get some fresh air. When I stopped at the end of the street, a young girl who had to be around seven years old stopped and kneeled down in front of me. At first I was confused because she didn’t tell me her name, and I didnt recognize her. She told me she was going to pray for me, and did for several minutes. I was so grateful for that moment because it gave me hope. Many little kids wouldn’t just approach a stranger the way that she did. After her prayers and words of motivation, I knew I was going to be okay. This experience made me a better person and more appreciative of the little things in life. I hope I get a chance to thank the little girl someday, I’m feeling a lot better nowadays.”
