Humans of CHS: Jonathan Ward
” I decided to do a gap year because I feel like there is more to life than going to school and getting a job and working for money your whole life because if you work for money then you die with all the money, but what happens after you die? Why not invest in something that lasts an eternity? So I am going to New Zealand to study the bible and learn about God. I feel like I am not investing in something that will last as long as I live, but rather investing in something that will last in this life and in, what I believe, heaven. That’s why I chose to do it. It’s really unconventional.
So what I am doing? I’m leaving in July to go to New Zealand for six months until December. I’ll live with 20-30 other people from around the world. We’ll live there. We’ll be each others family for six months. We’ll work, study, play and live together, kind of on a homestead on the countryside in New Zealand. We will be studying and seeing what the country has to offer.
Also, it would be so sick living in New Zealand. It would be an awesome adventure.”
