Falcon Stage Company performed their original play, “Too Much Light Makes the Baby Go Blind,” for select audiences on Thursday, April 21, during first, third and fourth block classes in the school’s auditorium.

The neo-futurist inspired play was student written, performed, and directed by the Advanced Theater classes.

According to Drama teacher Michelle Machay, neo-futurism is an unspoken agreement between actors and their audience to believe that everything onstage is reality, ultimately creating a surreal environment where the “fourth wall” doesn’t exist.

Student Director Jessica Jaffe was instrumental in creating the surreal environment.

“It [the idea] was just conceived from throwing around ideas on the bus back from Thespian Conference. It was kind of up in the air about whether or not it would actually happen, so seeing all of our ideas come to life is kind of mind-blowing,” Jaffe said.
